If you are travelling on a Luxe Sailing tour there will be a skipper, hostess and guide already included in your package. If you have opted for a yacht charter and hired a professional skipper and or hostess for the duration of your tour, they will require a cabin. With respect to cabins, we will generally arrange yachts that have dedicated cabins with dedicated bathroom facilities for the skipper and hostess, however if you opt for a yacht that does not have such facilities the skipper and hostess must have access to one of the bathroom(s), with shower and toilet, on the yacht.
Generally. You will also need to pay for their food and drink. This generally includes breakfast and lunch on-board with the rest of your crew. In the evenings, you can either choose to include your skipper and or hostess in your dinner plans or provide them with a cash allowance to cover their meal costs. It is your holiday so don’t worry about the skipper and hostess, they will not be offended if they are not included in your evening meal plans.
Yes. Please note that the Greek Port Police only accept practical sailing qualifications, such as a Practical Day Skipper, ICC, Coastal Skipper, Yacht Master, or an international equivalent.
Email a copy of your qualification to [email protected].
We strongly recommend that you obtain insurance. Luxe Sailing can provide insurance as a reseller for nib Travel Insurance, but we strongly urge you to compare insurance to ensure that you obtain what is best for you and your circumstances.
If you do not take out insurance through Luxe Sailing, ensure that your travel insurance covers sailing on organised tours.
If you are travelling on a Luxe Sailing Tour, it will include a professional licenced skipper and insurance for the yacht will be included in your package.
If you have elected to charter a yacht with a professional skipper there will be a non-refundable deposit that covers you in the event of any damage caused to the yacht or its contents. If you elect to take a bareboat charter then a security deposit is required which will cover the cost of any damage that may occur to the yacht. More details will be available with your booking.
Please note that this insurance does not relate to you personally and it is strongly recommended that you have your own personal insurance. See “Do I need Insurance?”
If for any reason you need to cancel your holiday email us at [email protected] or give us a call on +61395211409 or +30 694 543 6607 as soon as possible to discuss your options, or refer to the booking conditions for your tour.
In some cases, transfers are included in your tour at no additional cost.
If transfers are not included in your tour and you require them email us at [email protected] or give us a call on +61395211409 or +30 694 543 6607 and we will arrange transfers (at your cost).

In the end it is up to you what you bring along on your tour.
For sailing tours, whatever you bring must fit onboard the yacht. We recommend that you use a soft hold-all style bag rather than sold suitcases.
It is generally warm in Greece from May to November, however we do recommend a waterproof jacket for sailing and evenings when the temperature can drop at the beginning and end of the season.
See our packing guide for more information, https://luxesailing.com.au/info/useful-information/packing-guide-and-checklist/
We recommend that you have access to cash and always carry a nominal amount with you, even though digital currency is widely accepted, as cash is widely used and preferred in some remote areas.
Yes, you can as the yachts we will be using can accommodate electronics and peripherals. You can even bring your hair dryer and hair straightener. You will need to have the appropriate adapter for the European sockets though.
You will easily be able to keep connected and charge your devices.
